As the beam continued to fire, its energy would extend across the earth, burning anything in its path into molten slag. When active, these rings double as a simple defense mechanism. When in this mode, rings would begin to form around the beam, beginning with colossal rings that could span a few hundred meters, down to small rings which spanned only a few feet. This special function allowed the ship to weaken the direct effect of the beam, but increase its spread. The beam had a more special function as well. From this concentrated energy, the weapons beam would formulate and fire.
The underbelly weapon could cut through a planetary shield in a number of a minutes, and could decimate the ground of a planet. When the underbelly superweapon was in use, it would initiate by creating a gargantuan ball of energy beneath the ship. The underbelly beam was immensely powerful, and designed to instill terror in their enemies. Much of the core of the ship was carved out in order to make room for several enlarged SJFS III-a1a Primary Hypermatter-Annihilations Reactors meant to power a colossal underbelly superweapon.
The Cleanser-class Star Destroyer was developed late into the existence of the First Order using the chassis of a Resurgent-class Star Destroyer as its base.
